On the Nominating Committee? I sat on the first NomComm and, to borrow an old adage, found it a bit like watching the making of sausage. What I do know is that someone with strong, known opinions is unlikely to be appointed by the NomComm, while that same person might have an advantage in an election. Is this a good thing? It's open to debate. Based on group dynamics and the composition of the NomComm, I also doubt you'll ever see a North American representative appointed by the NomComm who comes from the user community. Is that a good thing? I don't think so. -- Bret
